The astrocartography guide

What does Zemavia's map show? This short guide explains what the lines of your birth chart mean across the world.

What is astrocartography?

At the moment you were born, every planet stood somewhere in the sky. Astrocartography projects those positions onto the world map: each planet's line joins the longitudes where that planet was at a special point — at the top, rising, setting, or at the very bottom.

In cities near those lines, that planet's theme is felt more strongly in everyday life. It is traditional astrology applied to the question of where to live.

What do the four lines mean?

Midheaven — Career, visibility, the face you show the world. Cities on this line bring your work and reputation forward.

Root — Home, family, belonging, putting down roots. Cities on this line feel like home.

Ascendant — You: your body, your first impression, how you show yourself.

Descendant — One-to-one relationships, partnerships, the "other" in your life.

The theme of the 10 planets

In the list and on the map, every planet carries a single theme:

Sun — Vitality, confidence and being seen

Moon — Feelings, belonging and inner calm

Mercury — Communication, learning and the exchange of ideas

Venus — Love, beauty and harmony

Mars — Energy, courage and competition

Jupiter — Abundance, luck and growth

Saturn — Responsibility, discipline and lasting structure

Uranus — Change, freedom and surprises

Neptune — Imagination, intuition and spirituality

Pluto — Transformation, power and depth

Distance and tiers

A city's distance to a line is measured in degrees; 1° is about 111 km. There are three tiers: On (up to 1°), Near (up to 3°), Felt (up to 8°). Beyond 8° a line has no effect.

Why the birth time matters

The Midheaven and Nadir lines move about 15° per hour. If your time is unknown, Zemavia assumes 12:00 and marks the result as approximate. If you know your time, the map is far more precise.

Frequently asked

Is my chart real?

The planet positions are astronomical calculations; the lines are their projection onto the world. The interpretations are traditional astrology, for entertainment.

Should I move by the city list?

The list is an invitation, not a decision. Always make moving and work decisions on your own terms.

What if I don't know my time?

12:00 is assumed and the result is labelled approximate. If you can find your time, draw the chart again.

Why do some cities have no line?

Lines do not cross every latitude; near the poles some lines cannot be drawn.

Where does my data go?

Nowhere. Your birth details stay on your device and are never sent to a server.

What is the Türkiye block?

We show the strongest cities in your own country at the top of the list; the world ranking itself does not change.

What does the score mean?

A strength gauge from 0 to 100, computed from line proximity and how many lines are near. Never a decision on its own.

Zemavia is for entertainment and personal reflection; no result is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
